hi. this is my first post here - i've read some really great advice though.

i really need (well, want) a mixing board to go along with my new (to me) teac 40-4 1/4 inch four track reel to reel. i recently graduated from using four track cassette. the kind of music i'll be recording recording is sort of noisy avant (punk) rock - mostly my duo and maybe some solo stuff. also, i tend to always record in mono - i really have no desire to complicate thing with stereo.

i was thinking about getting a soundcraft 200b, but i haven't been able to find a nice one. basically, i'll need between four to eight inputs (and preamps) and i would like to have a board with 2 to 4 busses. but i am open to suggestions. i would really like a board with character. i don't really have a strict budget, but the cheaper, the better. i was even thinking about getting an old altec mixer (5 inputs and one output) and an outboard eq, but i think that may be a little too limiting. i'm really looking for something that's pretty nice. something i can build around. and again, something with character.

any suggestions would really help me out a lot.
also, if you need to know more to be able to help, i can answer any questions.

thank you very much.

thanks

thanks, but i don't think i have room for anything like this. something smaller (again, between 4 and 8 inputs) would be more up my alley.

thanks though.
