Hi all,
Iv just purchased a macbook with logic and pro tools looking to record some acoustic guitar and vocal songs. are there any good mics for acoustic guitar and vocals plus maybe a bit of mandolin and percussion.

also what DI box would be best for this with mic and guitar jack inputs plus two headphone jack outs?

Many Thanks for any replies.
Jack

Theres a million choices on interfaces! What's your budget? Most interfaces only have a single headphone output, but you can buy a splitter that will work. How many mics/instruments do you want to record separately at the same time? This will be one of the deciding factors on what interface is better for you.
Same thing for mics - there's a million choices. Everyone has their favorites.

If your only going to be recording one instrument at a time. I would invest in a small interface like the MBox or something similar, and a couple of condenser mics. You can get a matched set of Rode NT1's for about 500.00. Two condeser mics will cover everything you listed above. As far a the DI box goes, unless you are going to record electric guitar or bass for reamping or simulation, there really is no need for a DI box.

I think the OP may have confused the terms "DI box" and "interface". Interesting analogy though.
