Please help with any and all suggestions regarding recording using direct boxes. I am recording guitar direct to my 4 track using an alesis Q2 in the effects loop and running my guitar into the channel using an array of stomp boxes. I get a pretty good clean tone, but I am looking to get a fatter sound overall for clean and distortion. I do mic the amp on occasion, but as we all know, volume does not endeer us to the neighbors next door. I want to go direct, but I am not really interseted in the all in one boxes like POD or Jstation, because of their weak effects processors. I already have all the effects in the Q2 programmed. Would a direct box help, like a sansamp or countryman. Please help, all opinions are appreciated.
