I have around $600 to spend in upgrading a microphone. I was using the Samson CO1U usb mic, but usb ones kind of suck haha.
I'm going to buy a SM58 along with another mic and preamp
I've been considering mainly the AT4040, but someone suggested on another forum that the M179 may also be good?
And I especially would like help deciding the preamp, because I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing lol. I'd like it to convert from xlr to usb, so I was looking at the shure x2u, but I was also recommended the scarlett 2i2? i would really really appreciate some help
Oh and I will only be using it to record vocals, but no rap.
