Hi,
I am recording audio into a Lexicon Core2 soundcard (PC) and then mixing 8-channels of audio through a 16 channel analogue mixer.
Question: NOT taking into account compression that should be applied to a mix in general (ie. the mixed stereo tracks).... What compression should be applied to individual tracks, especially given the fact that the Lexi Core2 soundcard comes with built in dbx soft-knee compression..?
I know that bass (for example) requires compression so that it will sit in the mix- but can anyone be more specific as to what settings to use etc...? I currently have a Behringer Composer compressor, and in the past have only applied compression to the final mix- and my tracks have often not sounded too good!
Help appreciated!
Cheers,
Matt
