Help with Behringer Eurorack UB1204-Pro !

I know, save me the lectures on how shitty behringer is, I just read another thread here. it had great reviews!!! also, it actually seems to be ...pretty awesome except one thing...


When I monitor on headphones, everything is perfect. its in stereo, i can pan, etc.

So i'm hooking it up to my soundcard the only way I can see how - thru the R/L Tape Output jacks, using a Y-cord to my soundcard...

So i hook it up and only the left channel works when recording to my computer...weird...to make sure its not the mixer itself, i switch cords' left and right plugs....now only the right channel is coming through. great i gotta get a new cord.

so i buy a new cord......but still the same problem.

I mean, i know its not the mixer, as both jacks emit sound, as ive tested, and it cant be the cord because this is the second cord ive bought...

and it cant be my soundcard because ive used it in the past (recording minidiscs to my harddrive through the mic input)

so what could the problem be?!?! the only other outputs are the Headphone/Control Out and two R/L XLR jacks on the back....the manual said the tape output should connect to whatever you are using to record, i.e. computer.

It's the chord most likely. Assuming the soundcard is a stereo female input, the y chord has to have a trs end on it. If it does then you need to check the soundcards mixer and make sure it is set up for stereo.
 
are you going into the mic in on your comp or the direct in? the mic in is mono. the direct in is stereo but if you have had things hanging from the direct in, then it could be out of whack and you may only get a one sided signal.

if thats not it. then go get 2 xlr to rca cables and then a 2 female rca to 1/8 jack cable to plug into your computer
