Help! with aux send hookup, Please!

I seemed to have blown the auxillary outputs on my Tascam M2600 32 channel mixing board- for the third time. Does anyone know the proper way to go from the 1/4" aux out into a PA system with a crossover that has an XLR input? If I use a direct box or impedience transformer, the level to low and I cannot get any volume out of the PA. If I use my little adapter cable (1/4"TRS to XLR) it works perfectly, sometimes for months at a time, but then the aux send blows. (stops working altogether) and I'm taking it back in for repair. Does anyone have any info on this? Should a transformer of some sort be used or just the adaper cable? Any info would help.... Thanks

You say you using your aux sends directly
into your PA yet your aux send is blowing out. Are you using the aux send to control the amplification of the PA? Usually,either
the control room or monitor outs are usually
used to send a signal out to a PA. Basically
some folks use the auxes for signal processing.Perhaps, you can further explain as to reason you are using the aux send to your PA.

Yes, we use aux 1 to feed a signal into the performance room to monitor vocals through the PA. We use the main outs for recording and use the control room out for the control room monitors. This board has 8 aux sends, we use 5,6,& 7 for effects sends and we use aux send 8 to feed a separate drum monitor for vocals in the performance room also.(Which works fine but it is ran directly into the amps high impedience input). The problem seems to be getting from the 1/4" aux send output to the XLR input of the crossover. The adapter cable we have works great, but this is the third time the aux send has burnt. Thank you in advance for any help...

Are you sending an amplified signal thru your
auxes from the PA. i couldn't get much info
as to the cause of your problem but was told an effective way to reduce aux burnouts is to send the signal to a crossover to limit certain frequencies that are not in the range-field. Sorry but that's the best info I can come up with. Perhaps some-1 else could provide some info on this topic. If not,my last piece of advice is to pose this same question on www.prorec.com under the
