i can get the pcr card to be the slave to the adat but i cant seem to get it to work as master, my local dealer does'nt wanna know me cos i got it from America please help im running 98 se and have done a clean install ,my system is bare bones just display card and the pcr.

In the multimedia properties it says im pll locked but the transport buttons in adat connect do nothing, could it be the software in my adat?

I thoght it might be because i havnt installed the edit software but i can slave the pcr without it so vice/versa should be possible.

I power up the pc then the adat then i start adat connect, i have also tried lots of differnt combinations, a couple times the clock and input diplays on the adat went blank but thats about the best response ive got.

HELP!!

I have the same problem....anybody ever figure this out?

I have the adat/edit card, and I'm running 98se, and don't have any trouble at all, but I'm not using the 'connect' portion of the software, although I do have it installed.
The first thing you should do is go to the alesis site and download the updated drivers for 'connect'(to 1.03) and 'edit'(to 2.0). Then install the 'edit' portion of the software, with the update.
The way I avoid using the 'connect' is to record directly into 'Edit'. Install it, open it up, and you will be in the arrange window. It might be obvious what to do next, if not, post again.

Here is a link to the updates.

Make sure you ONLY use a sync cable from the card sync out to the ADAT sync in! Never have both sync cables connected. It will be trying to read both ways!
Let me know if this works.

Good point flatrock. If you are using the card just to get tracks into the computer to edit, and are not sync'ing the computer and adat together, you won't even have to use a sync cable. Also, the adat lightpipe will carry wordclock.

download the manual from www.alesis.com and follow the istructions word by word.
I've bought the adatpcr a couple of months ago and it works great.
The first thing that comes to my mind is to check the cable in/out: pc sync out to adat sync in. Then you should configure the pc as explained in the manual.
