Help with adat/pcr (adat/edit)

i can get the pcr card to be the slave to the adat but i cant seem to get it to work as master, my local dealer does'nt wanna know me cos i got it from America please help im running 98 se and have done a clean install ,my system is bare bones just display card and the pcr.

In the multimedia properties it says im pll locked but the transport buttons in adat connect do nothing, could it be the software in my adat?

I thoght it might be because i havnt installed the edit software but i can slave the pcr without it so vice/versa should be possible.

I power up the pc then the adat then i start adat connect, i have also tried lots of differnt combinations, a couple times the clock and input diplays on the adat went blank but thats about the best response ive got.

Mixit,

In order to slave the Adat to the PC, you need to reconnect the Sync cable from the out of the PCR card to the In of the ADAT. If you have it the other way of course it won't work. Also, if you have them both (Two cables) hooked up at the same time it will not work either.

You do not need the edit software. That is just their rendition of a program like Sonar or Vegas.

So once you get the sync cable hooked up from the out of the PCR to the in of the ADAT, and you have the CONNECT software open, Fire up the ADAT. It will sync and the screen should look like the one that I attached below. (Note that the bottom of the screen states the PCR is the master with 1 slave). Sometimes if you have the ADAT on and fire up the Connect software, it won't sync right. It depends if the ADAT is locked etc.

Let me know if the Sync cable was the fix. If not, I am sure that we can figure it out.

Yeah the sync cable is right everything is right,its my pc i think.

I dragged over my brothers dungbox and what do ya know??? work likes a charm!!!! using the old version drivers too!

Ive got one of those Via 4-1 boards ill bet thats the problem.

Anyway i tried diferent vga adaptors, i tried reformatting with windows 98 and 98 se i tried 4-1 patches, USB disabling and patches i tried swapping pci slots assigning them to different irq's.
Still i can slve the PCR but not vic/versa.

What can i say I WANT A MAC!!!!!!!!!!
 
Let's see. Did you use your Brother's PCR card or yours in his computer? If you used his card and it worked, you might have a bad Sync output on you PCR. Just a thought. Sounds like you have tried all of the IRQ things I was going to suggest. Seems like it should be something easy as it works with the PCR as slave. What happens when you connect the system and select "FORCE MASTER" from the menu bar?

Nah force master does nothing.

It was my PCR card in his PC, i've tried everything from drop my FSB to banging it with a hammer i am certain its a mainboard thing.

When was the card released?? cos i think the mainboard architecture i have does not support the card in this fashion,i'll bet its the bus drivers.

Time to dig into my pocket AGAIN AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

heres a new one.

after giving up on setting the pcr as master i set things up for my adat to be the master and pcr the slave....

im getting a .45 of a second discrepency on the adat connect counter??? its behind. why??
 
I only run it as PCR master so I am not sure here. I'll look around thought when I get a second or two.
