after I create a beat and some cool lines...I want to record vocals and live music into acid. How do I achieve this? I'm running adats and adat connect...so i cannot record directly into the acid program itself. unless there is a way I do it through my board and into my computer...but I only have that cheapy dell mic input. Do I have to put the beats from acid to adat and then do the tracking then back to acid? thanks
i know that there is a sonic foundry forum....but didnt find much help there.

thanks

Well, if you can't get a decent input signal into your computer, what can you do? You need to have a way to get line level or ADAT signals into your computer.

Well you tear out the square at the preforation and rest it on your tongue. Allow 5 minutes for it to desolve. You may swallow the paper if you wish.

Sorry, I couldn't resist:D

You need a better soundcard, with or without adat.

I'll usually build tracks in Acid Pro 4.0, then move them to Cubase 5.1 and finish up there - that's where I'd add the vocals. But you could also record into Sound Forge (I think SF-XP still come free with Acid) and then port the wav into Acid.

But you have to have a decent sound card first.

What kind of mixing board do you have?

How do you have all of your equipment set up?

What are the specs on your computer?

How much money could you spare on a soundcard (if needed)?

Post us back with some more info....... ;)
