I play metal & i'm recording metal. i had a guy tell me he can put in a cd, lets use Pantera for this example, and sample the drums from it & then replace each drum w it's respective sample. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

This can be done by downloading the trigger creation program from the Slate site. You do however have to have a pure isolated hit from each drum on the recording you wish to create the sample from.

thanks, so how exactly is it done? is it thru the Trigger Editor? and once i insert cd, what is the process? thanks for the help!

Trigger editor yes. You need to import from the cd you want to grab a sample from, into your DAW. Then find the piece you want for the trigger sample. Keep in mind it has to be a sample with no guitars, other drums, cymbals, anything. This is tough to find. You will then edit that little piece and export as a wave file. That wave file (sample) will be imported into the Trigger editor and converted into a trigger file.
