In my Layla24 Manual it says...
the Layla24 output volume is made in the digital domain. When you lower the volume below 0dB, you are actually decreasing the number of bits, thereby taking away from the potential dynamic range... we suggest that whenever possible you leave the output faders at 0dB and perform attenuation on your external mixer.
Well... in the Echo Console there is also next to the Main output, a stereao fader for Playback 1-2.
If tha Main out is at 0dB. Then would the playback fader mess w/ the Dynamic Range as well. It seems like it would not. Yes?
I had a Aardvark, and had no reason for a Mixer. I'm wondering if I can get by with out a mixer using this Layla24 card. I'd been planning on getting a Soundcraft M12, but would rather put the $$$ towards something else.
Thanks,
B.
