HELP - Tascam 122 into Pro Tools Free!!!

I cant seem to get my US-122 to work as an AUDIO interface with Pro Tools Free. Midi seems ok but i dont need that really. Pro Tools just doesnt seem to pick it up under 'setup' 'hardware' - presumably thats where it should be?? Please someone help if u have an idea!!

I just bought my US122 for use with my Powerbook G4 w/ Logic Express 6 but can't get it to work either. Installed the latest drivers but no luck.
Mic signal enters the unit but I don't receive any signal through the headphones connected to it.
US 122 is recognised by the computer so that isn't the problem; what am I doing wrong?
