Hi. This should be easy- I have a Shure Prologue 16L, bought second hand, worked fine for about a year, then- doesn't work... I understand this mic has a battery, I found this, the manual for the 16A (looks the same):

Cryptically (or not so), the manual says: "To replace battery, unscrew and remove cartridge (top portion), replace the old battery with a new battery making sure the positive end is facing the cartridge, then screw the cartridge back on."
This shouldn't be difficult!!! I can't do it.
The windscreen comes off without a problem, then nothing. There is a small set screw, probably not good to remove, when I removed it nothing happened. It looks as though it should also unscrew below the label- this seems a logical place for it to open and have the battery. Even gently but firmly clamped in the wood mouth in my desk vice, this refuses to budge. I like this mic!!! it sounds great on acoustic instruments, and I don't have another like it-
Has anyone replaced the battery in this mic and can you tell me what you did??
Eternal gratefulness awaits you.
Thanks.
Thank you.
YOU'RE FANTASTIC.
If you can help. Thanks.
