goodfriend I think you have some very important points. It reminds me of my music where I have less than subpar equipment, but I focus on what my music is about, what I'm trying to say (i'm not saying it's really good like the guy you are talking about) but I think if you put meaning, and passion and have fun with your music it'll be way better. Like my brother, he's into songwriting more than recording; he recorded what he had onto a zoom recorder with crap gear and I still think it's amazing.
