Ok, I need some help here. I’m trying to figure out how to hookup a Lexicon LXP-15 to my Mbox2 as an external insert/plug in?

I’ve read the Mbox2 manual and did the following. This is going to be hard to explain.

So I have a recorded vocal track. Now how do I send that out to the reverb and then get it back into protools?

Here’s what I’ve tried.

I have my vocal track going to Out 2 and the send on that track going to Bus17 (all mono)

Then I created an AUX track as the protools manual said. I have the input as Bus 17. but when I try and select the insert from Input 1 of the MBox2 in Protools it says it’s already in use?

Here’s how the LXP-15 is hooked up.
I have the Right out put going to the channel 1 TRS of the Mbox2
I have the Right output of the mbox2 going to right input of LXP-15.

Can someone help me figure this out?

I’m obviously a newbie at this. This is my first piece of external effects gear.

Thanks!

you're confusing me...i'm not really sure what you have wired where :)

but you should be able to select an I/O point on the send of that track. Pull down the send menu in your mix window and you should see I/O. Set that to channel two or whatever. Patch out of channel two into your effects unit. Patch back in (probably stereo) into channels 1/2 of your Mbox. Create a stereo aux send or audio track and set it's input to channels 1/2
Should work for you then.

No need to set it up as an insert.
