Hello jarleiceman,

Have you installed the latest drivers and updates for both Cubase and the UR22?
Not so long ago we have released drivers for Windows 8.1 for the UR22.
Please download and install the 64 bit version, you will find them on the following link:

UR22*:*UR22 Updates and Downloads*|*http://www.steinberg.net/

On the other hand, have you checked that you have an output bus on the VST connections window?
Devices > VST connections > Output.
Also, on the MIDI track you need to enable the monitor button to listen to what you are playing.

From the not so cold but rainy Hamburg.

Best regards,
GN
