I'm now the proud owner of a 5-string Hamer Active bass with 2 EMG pups . Its years and years old, but Im not sure how old. Got it from a friend. Im fairly certain the pups are an upgrade. I can post pics when I get home (at work now).
Any idea what model it is or how much this would be worth?

Its purple sparkle in color - so my geuss would be the 80's or early 90's.

Pics would be really handy. As far as I know, Hamer made cheap but also expensive stuff.

Sidenote: did you know Sting had a Hamer endorsement at one time? :)

It seems to be really nice. It's pretty heavy with a big long rosewood fretboard as well.
I just dont need an active 5 string bass and if I can get any amount of money for it - I'll happily sell it to fund my overpowering gear lust.

I'll post pics when I get home.

Do you know if it was made in the USA or in Korea? USA Hammers have a much higher resale value than the ones made in Korea.

I'm afraid you won't get much for it. It looks like a beginners bass. I'm ofcourse not 100% sure, but I say if you get a 300 dollar offer for it, take it. Maybe even a 200 dollar offer.
