I've made an identical post on the presonus board's tech support section but I've had good luck getting good answers here so I thought I'd see if anyone here can help out. THANKS!

Hey,
So I just set up my FSP and followed the user manual and installed the latest drivers from the Presonus website. After restart, the light on the FSP glowed solid blue as it said it should if the installation went correctly.
At this point, my two monitors were plugged into the mainout 1/2 on the back of the FSP. I also have headphones in the front headphone jack.
I opened up itunes to test it out. I am getting levels in the firecontrol mixer on DAW1, DAW2 and the main OUTPUT slider. However, there is no sound on my monitors or headphones. The only thing I can hear is an annoying buzz emitted from my monitors - more so on the right speaker than the left. Same issue with Cubase 4 studio - levels, but no sound.
What'd I do wrong?!
System specs
ASUS M50Sv notebook
Vista 32bit + SP1
Intel Core 2 Duo T9300 @ 2.5GHz
3GB RAM
I'm using an SIIG 2-Port Firewire Expresscard with TI chipset (http://www.siig.com/ViewProduct.aspx?pn=NN-EC2012-S1)
thanks ahead of time,
Joe
EDIT:
I resolved the issue to the point where I get playback through headphones and speakers, however it is poppy and it cuts off after about 5 minutes of playback.
