Help Please

I am in the process of building my studio and the last thing on my list is a sound card or maybe an audio interface. I have a mackie 1202 mixer and a diamond xtreme sound card that the homie gave me. Which way should I go a new sound card or an interface. I will only be recording vocals and will be using cakewalk sonar 8.5 studio edition. Any suggestions ona particular card? Thanks for the help.

An interface is your soundcard. What I mean is get a decent interface in your budget, and you also use that as your soundcard. Seeing you are only doing vocals, look for something with a decent preamp, phantom power, and your good to go. Check out the Tweak guide for some interface choices. Good luck.
