Hey, I'm pretty new to mixing and recording, but I really want to learn! I've been recording my band and was hoping I could get some helpful tips to get a better mix? It's probably really quiet, so you might have to turn up a lot to hear it, but I don't really get how to make it louder (aside from limiting) without drastically changing the EQ or having the mix clip. So if you could help me figure that out too, that would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

Good song, nice clean recording. Initially I notice a balancing problem; the rythm (left?) guitar seems 'way too far over. Generally you would close your eyes, locate and point at perceived location of each instrument, create a "sound stage". Second (lead?) guitar level seems a bit low on intro but gets better further in. You are correct about overall level being low. Most recording software have main output stereo level meters and the usual goal is for maximum output without digital overload (most software have overload warnings). You may want to look at "mastering" techniques to get better levels.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try to implement it in the song!

The guitars are definitely too low in the mix, but you have the best part down.. a solid vocal track and a good song. I like the guitar tone on the left as well as the chords that you are playing, keeps it very interesting. Add some production value and you have a solid track

I'll agree with the others here - guitars are too far to the sides - and I think the vocals overpower everything - or maybe the guitars aren't strong enough. On a positive note, the drums come through quite well in the mix!

I think the song is cool enough. I liked bass part when it kicks in. Good vocals.

The guitars are pretty weak. You need to work on your source tone. It's not a mixing issue - it's the source sounds. I would work on dialing in some guitar tone that's a little "bigger" sounding. Focus on the lower end of the frequency spectrum. The distortion on the guitar on the right is a little bit fizzy.

Little pop at 2:19. A couple of other spots too. Also noticed a pitch issue or two on the vocal.
