I'm looking to invest in some reasonably priced headphones ($50-$100) for recording. I'll be using them mainly so the drummer has something to listen to while hes recording. So I need something that a loud drummer will still be able to hear the instruments on. Any suggestions on decent headphones? I've looked around but found nothing but mixed reviews, so any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Sennheiser HD280's

if you are just going to be using them for monitoring while tracking, check out the MoreMe headphones Harvey Gerst sells here. Their cheap and do the job.

They do the job, and Harvey backs 'em up. I have five pair, I did have to return one pair after a month or two and the replacements shipped out as soon as he got my e-mail, I had my new ones even before he got the broken ones back.

I really like the frequency balance of my Sennheiser HD280's (not so bass heavy as most others), but something in the design makes it so that if I'm wearing my glasses, I can't wear the HD280's for more than about 30 minutes before I start to get a headache. When I'm not wearing my glasses, the HD280's are the most comfortable headphones I've ever put on my head.

For me, the overall winner is the Audio-Technica ATH-M40fs. Nearly as balanced as the HD280's and though while overall not quite as comfortable as the HD280's, they are extremely close, AND their design is such that they don't cause a problem with my glasses.
