help! no speaker output w/ soundblaster live 5.1

i am using sb live 5.1 platinum and it suddenly stopped giving speaker output. i can listen to anything over headphones and can hear my cd player with speakers but nothing that comes from my hard drive. this leads me to believe it's a soundcard issue. needless to say the folks at creative labs take their dear sweet time answering my request for help and their customer support line is like staring into the abyss of terminal hold! so, i turn to you. any ideas?

I had this probelem when I had a sb live plat. when I upgraded the drivers. Have you checked that it isnt just giving digital out (This is a check box inside one of the menus). This option is hidden in either soundcard properties/play control/advanced /uncheck digital only (from what i remember).

Also, check to make sure that you have the WAVE OUT box checked in your Volume Control Properties.

This option can be found as well on the windows mixer in the main volume control, its in and advanced tab. Just uncheck it if checked.

Your suggestion worked. I had reinstalled my drivers and that was how the setting was changed. Thank God! I was getting a terrible case of headphone hair from constant headphone monitoring!
