Hi

Is there anyone out there who could help me, please!

I installed a new sound card, Audiophile 2496 and since then when I try to use ACID to play and record at the same time, the program freezes up.

A little info about my computer

Dell 8100
windows xp
256RAM
Pentium 4
1500MHz
ACID 4.0

I saw the other posts about the on board sound and disabling it in the BIOS. This computer came with SB live (I removed the card and uninstalled the software) so it shouldn't have on board sound right?

Is it an IRQ conflict?

It was sharing the same IRQ as the ethernet card and the Intel universal host controller. So I removed the card and replaced it in another slot. Now its sharing an IRQ with the Radeon Video card and I've still got the same problem.

Any other ideas I would gladly try.

Have you got another PCI slot you can use?

You definitely don't want to be sharing IRQ with your video card

I just tried moving it, 3rd times a charm. I tried recording 5 times it didn't lock up once.

Thanks for your help, It will feel great to get back at recording instead of playing computer repair man.
