Hi,

I have recently bought a pc running Windows XP and an M-Audio Firewire Audiophile. I am on the net and have tried to download the software I need to run the damn thing, but I can't get it to work. I will be using it with Cubase, but as yet I can't get it to make a single noise. I have followed the instructions to the letter and I have emailed M-Audio, but it's Saturday. Does anyone know what I can do to resolve this before I tear my own face off?

:)

Face Off !! That was a killer flick !

Try forcing the install of the newest XP drivers from their site.

Please be more specific.
After downloading the latest drivers, did you actually install them?
If so, did any error message occur?
Does it appear in the Windows device list?
etc..

Do you have SP1 installed? I've had a lot of issues with the M-Audio USB Duo...including it not wanting to show up after the SP1 update. I checked my manufacturer's website and looked for BIOS updates...They had 2 for my laptop...and they addressed a bunch of issues. Most people will tell you - only fuck with the BIOS as a last resort...but I betcha that would fix your problem...assuming that you have all the newest drivers properly installed...and you're still having issues.

Cubase wants me dead.

The continuing saga....

I have still been staying up too late tearing my hair out trying to get Cubase to work, to no avail! I did make a slight breakthrough last night when I got sound thru the headphones in the Firewire Audiophile, AND the monitor lights on Cubase showed that the sound is getting there, but I still can't hear it thru the speakers. So the problem is somewhere between Cubase outputs and the speakers. All other audio is fine. Ugh.

Here's where it gets complicated - I have no manual for Cubase. People have been very helpful in telling me what page of the manula to look at, but it's not on my Cubase. It won't read or downloads for some reason. Can someone please talk me though ths problem, cos I really am going insane here!

Thank you all.

Ross.
