Help Needed With Multi Track Recording with Cubase

Hi All,

I'm hoping some one might be able to help me with my recording woes.

I have a TASCAM US-366 for which I'm trying to record multiple guitar tracks.

The problem is that Cubase wants to use the US-366 as the audio input and output device and this seems to cause some issues. For example:

-When you set metronome to go in Cubase it records the beeps along with the guitar playing.

-When you record a 2nd track it records the second track and 1st track together onto the second audio track line.

Garageband has the same issue but I can get past it by outputting the audio from garageband to the Laptop speakers but Cubase doesn't allow me to do that. This doesn't seem right either as I'm sure the TASCAM unit must be able to seperate the signals out. The sound being played certainly doesn't show up on the input signals in the TASCAM mixer. I'm sure it's a setting that's the problem but I just can't figure it out.

Any help that can be offered would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ignore this - after 2 days of frustration I finally realised that the switch on the bottom of the US-366 wasn't set fully to Multitrack.

Problem now solved!!

You had me intrigued! Then I would have been stumped. Never used the US-366 so I would have been oblivious to the 'switch'.

You may have saved another from 3 pages of WTF?!!

Good form Joe! Thanks!

Or Slow or Crow. Whatever your name is. :)
