i'm having trouble getting my recordings to be in stereo sound from both speakers..right now only one speaker is playing everything...i connected my guitar through a one channel preamp..the preamp connects to my audiophile by a 1/4" input that branches into white and red RCA cables which i put into both inputs on my audiophile..the problem is that sound only registers through the white RCA input..i'm confused on how to record using the two RCA inputs on the audiophile to get stereo sound coming from both speakers...do i need a different cable to hook up my preamp and soundcard?..please help me out thanks

Intrument Cable

Instrument Cables (i.e. Guitar Cables) are mono. Mono, obviously meaning one, and when played back will go through the right speaker only (typically). To get a stereo signal you must fade the signal back to both left and right.

hope this helps,

Select the left channel as the recording source and not the stereo pair.
