Hey peeps.

Basically, I've just bought a sound module called the E-MU Mo'Phatt. I don't own a keyboard, but was told I could run it through MIDI and play the sound modules sounds on the Propellerhead Reason keyboard.

I don't quite know what to do though, so if anyone could help I'd appreciate it.. I've got my MIDI Interface (M-Audio) and thats hooked up to both my PC, and my Mo'Phatt via the USB port.

I can play the sound module sounds through the computer, and I can hear it through the speakers, BUT this is only the audition sound, like a demo of each of the samples and drum kits. I need a controller, like a live MIID Keyboard, but I'm trying to avoid those because I dont know how to record with them in an accurate sequence.

If anyone can help me set it up so I can play the single sounds on the Reason keyboard, or even maybe tell me a music production software I can do it through, like Cubase?.

Thanks..

I am an avid Reason user, and have yet to find a nice easy solution to the problem you describe. Reason is basically a closed system, offering sequencing capabilities only for the synths and FX in its own rack.

The key to bringing both the hardware of the EMU module and the Reason world togther lies in ReWire technology which the Propellerheads were kind enough to provide. This is a system whereby Cubase, Sonar, Tracktion and many other sequencer packages can not only provide midi tracks to fire your Mo' Phatt but also slots to bring in a stereo mix from Reason.

You WILL need to get some kind of controller keyboard and one of the sequencer packages that offer ReWire compatability -- if you're on a low budget, I suggest you download the Tracktion demo and see how that suits you...
