I'm trying to link a behringer MX802 mixer to a soundblaster audigy & active monitors. what do i plug in where??? have tried nearly everything & am not getting anywhere. please help

Take the main Left/Right output of the mixer and patch that to the LINE input of the card. Consumer grade sound cards like the soundblaster almost always have stereo mini ins and outs so you'll need a patch cable that has a stereo mini on one end the fans out intp two 1/4" mono connectors. The line out or speaker out of the card connects to your monitoring system (speakers).

i have a very similar system at home. There should be two outs on the desk, 1 set of xlr and one set of LR Jacks. Send one to the monitors and one to the line in (Blue connector) of the Sound card.l You could send the signal to the soundcard through the Aux Sends too. Be ready to buy a shit load of adapters though

I feed the main out on the mixer to the line in on the soundcard. The Control room out to your speakers. The line out on the souncard back to the tape in on the mixer. You can then send the computer signal directly to the control room for monitoring or if you want to mix it back in you can send it to the main out.

You will then have seperate control over each signal. Monitoring volume is controlled by the headphone/control room control. The signal back into the tape in is either controlled by the control room when monitoring or by the main mix control when sending the signal back to the PC.

Any effect unit that you put aux return/send can also be applied to the signal from the PC when it is fed back to the PC.

hey - thanks to everyone who replied, it's much appreciated. anyway, have managed to get it sorted. still haven't recorded vocals thru the desk into the soundcard yet but that's my next step! will prolly be back before you know it! thanks again
