HELP! need to kno how to export(upload) music off my multi track

hello guys im just inquiring i own a tascam dp 02 cf multi track....i have recorded songs..and im looking to export(upload them off my multi track true USB cable on to my computer"...im wondering what i have to upload too??

do i need any software??:confused:..and how to convert to mp3 to put on my music myspace profile.....PLEASE HELP...I WOULD BE SO GREATFUL:)..CHEERS

.....yes bro:) i have been goin true the manual...its quite complex as there is alot written:confused:...

i thought maybe some one might have done this before and could give me a brief exmple of what i should expect to see and what im uploading my track too on my comp...

here's an expample of what im reading,...importing and exporting tracks,..you can import and export individual tracks to and from pc via the fat partition..what is that?...the file's used for track import and export are 16_bit.1kzHz mono WAV format and must have the WAV extension). audio in other formats intended for import must be coverted before they can be imported to the unit,.....so on:confused: please if you can be more brief?........ps thank you for the mp3 converter link
 
....okay i have figured it out:)....but now im getting my music out on bits of piece's....whats that about???:confused:...i have exported the track on to my media windows player,..and its playing in all different parts...not as one song how can i get to play as one......is this normal guys???....
 
Yes, that is normal behavior when trying to play a multitrack session in WMP.

Say you have one song on the DP02 but that song is comprised of 8 separate 'tracks'. Each of those tracks is an individual audio file. The DP02 has firmware that time aligns those tracks, mixes them to a stereo pair and permits them to be heard coherently as a single integrated song.

Once the individual audio files are exported from the DP02 to a computer (a process that can be as simple as dragging and dropping) one still needs software to replicate the work of the firmware in the DP02, i.e. you need software that will time align and sum or mix the tracks, to play the individual files as an integrated song.

Windows Media Player does not, to my knowledge have this capability. Something like Audicity, mentioned because it happens to be free, does.

Additionally if one just wants to listen to material recorded on the DP02 you can mix material to a single file on the DP02 and simply export that to the computer (and if format, codec is appropriate that could be played via WMP)

.................cool bro thank you so its normal:)...i have dowloaded audicity,...i guess i got to play around with it now...my track sound is fine...but i got to get the timing right and have no gaps and mix all the audio file's together....i guess this is like editing from the beggeing again....i dont understand on why it cant come out as played on my dp o2cf??...is there any option to mix on my dp 02cf and export it as one file??:confused:.........its seem like abit of work to do if you cant,..i dont really mind guys its just that im very new to this and with the way i have it mixed on the dp 02cf im very happy with:)....what do you think guys??...maybe thats the way to do things do..
 
.........well ive been trying to work the audio editor guys...im getting parts right...but timing and things are proven alittle coplex.....those any one kno any easier way to get what you have exactly recorded on your multi track and export it as one file......its seems to me if all the audio file's are coming out seperet are normal well why make it that hard?...its very complex i think....they way i though was once you exported your songs file's that it would show up on your comp as one......especially if you have mixed on your multi track:(.......any of you guys have a good solution??? or should i conact somone who works in a store in my city
 
Well i grab your manual, your right it is very confusing to me.

you can transfer the finial mix to the PC, via USB, but by the sound of it you need to do the finial mix on the mixer first save it then send it to the PC as a stereo mix, and you can only do 1 finial mix on that mixer at a time.

Dinner time maybe i'll read it some more later.

Sounds like you have options, export the seprate tracks and edit with software on the PC or do a mixdown on the mixer and export the finial stereo master mix.

Don't know to much on mixing the tracks on PC with Audacity, so if you can get a decent mix on the Tascam, then save it as a master, then export it to PC.

See page 27 mixdown and mastering, then go to page 47 exporting mastered stereo tracks, see if that gives you what your looking for

...cool bro thank you for the info:).....your right i cant get my head around that audicity...what that is i dont kno cause you might aswell be starting from scratch...trying to get the timings right and editing all the parts must take some time...and i just said to myself hey i have it done on the tascam and i love the mix i have so it should do..

...okay im goin to read manual on mastering:),..i was goin to ask you how to save to as master,..because i have the tracks saved,.how do i get them to master?..maybe its in manual?....cheers bro,..i will let you kno how i get on......thank you:)
