I originally posted this in the wrong forum...sorry. So, here goes here. I think I have it right now.

First off, let me say that this is an absolutely awesome forum. Loads of info to make this newbies head spin...LOL.

Ive been playing with home recording for a whopping 4 days now . Heres my "recording studio":

Behringer UB802 Mixer
Pioneer CT-WM77R tape deck
Sony STR-D665 receiver
Acoustic Research outdoor speakers (for monitors)
Fender DG-27 Acoustic/Electric

So, everything was fine until I wanted to add my Alesis AcoustiFX pedal to the mix. I hooked everything up in series Guitar>Pedal>Mixer and the hiss was just incredible. WTF

So then I hooked it up as shown in the manual:

FX Send
The FX Send output should be connected to the input of the external effects unit. The post fader FX signal you created using the input channel FX controls is sent to the effects unit via the FX Send output.

 WTF did they say? If anyone would be willing to look at the UB802 Owners manual and tell me how to connect this thing in laymans terms Id really appreciate it...LOL.

Anyway, myy question is this...is the hiss inherant to the pedal or am I missing something? From what I understand about the pedal, its got a built in gate.

Ive played with the gate settings and it helps a bit but, the hiss is still evident on the recordings.

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks,

-J

Nevermind!!

I guess they use the term "newbie" for a reason. I turned down the AUX Return and it sounds fine...LOL.

Thanks for all of the responses...LMAO ;)

And I downloaded the manual for nothing... :-)
