Help me Sonic Maximize setup please.

Hi all,
I am using an 828mkII and i have used all of th 8 analog ins for my synths.
I want to use my "BBE 422A Sonic Maxmizer" on the synths to enhance the sounds. The BBE is 2channel maximizer. What should i do :confused:

lol I've been keeping an eye on this post, just waiting for someone to say that.


On the topic at hand, with what you have, I don't see a way to use the BBE on all 8 ins, unless you by 3 more, and that's just silly. If you are mixing inside the box you'd have been better off getting the BBE VST plugin. If you use a board and mix to a cdburner or dat, put it in between the board and recorder.
 
My point was actually more of a *why* would you want to put a BBESM on a synth sound of all things...

If he said "I have a really crappy sounding bass and I'm too lazy to change the strings" that'd be one thing. Or "I'm recording vocals through a 57 and I need the track to cause internal bleeding of the eustation tubes" or something, then sure.

But on a synth? I just don't see it for some reason...
 
I'll agree with you there, but I stopped trying to figure things like that out a long time ago. People are going to do what they want to do, regardless of what anyone says, so I just try to be helpful when I can.

I was just trying to get some use out my gear that i still have but thanks for the replys.
 
It is always best to have as little in the signal path as possible. If you don't have a specific reason for putting something in the path, it's best not to.

The only way to get a two channel unit to work on 8 channels is to mix the 8 channels down to two and insert it there.
 
I was thinking about saying "Buy three more of them" based on the fact that the unit is 2 channels and he needed to use it on 8 tracks, but I held back...

That's what I would have said if I had 3 of them to sell.
