I've done a lot of recordings...
Sometimes received a compliment from sound even, DI
, but this time I'm micing my amp the FIRST time.
And frankly, not getting it quite. Not much difference in a miced speaker after all tube amp, than DI:d...
More mids, no shrill, less gain perhaps, quite a lot of highs... nothing spectacular.
Using an sm-57, tried on center, off center, on and off axis. Detected minor changes on presence and bottom end.
BUT, I wouldn't know what to look for would I?....
So, would you please post your good recording clips???...
And a comment on what you like about them??
..I've noticed the nice dynamics, the powertube overdrive,but what is the magick?.. I need to know what to look for.
