Help Me Please! Im not too bright lol

Hello folks, im gonna cut to the chase. I have an M-Audio Mobile Preamp and a dbx 266xl compressor. I had it hooked up for a little bit before realizing that the compressor wasn't hooked up correctly. Anyways, can anyone tell me how to connect the two please? Id greatly appreciate any help i can get. Thank you!

From what I saw (could be wrong) the Mobil Pre doesn't have a patch point (insert) between the preamp and the recorder -that would be the A>D converter- which is where the compressor would go> After the the preamp brough it up to line level.
