i'm a pro tools le 6.7 user and I want directions to do a session like a pro
would do. I have dvds and they take the long way around to recording a song. Just a number step system would suffice. What would you do to start and finish a 4 track demo with effects for example? thanks. I'm burnt out from
manuals. my tracks seem squeezed in and not separated. I'm not using effects
yet. thanks again.

I know you've put alot into the protools program but I recommend you use something like SONAR 4 producer edition. I like this program alot more than protools. Plus its much easier to get the effects you need. Thats just my opinion though.

Nah, it's personal preference. No program sounds good if you don't know how to use it or the basics of recording. If you've bought the system, be patient and really learn the ins and outs of it. There's no real easy way of doing things, no quick way of learning the program either. Pros are pros because they've been doing it for ages, and Pros take the long way around because that's the only way to sound professional. Shortcuts result in shoddy recordings, period. Be prepared to make a few harddrives worth of shitty mixes before you have anything that even resembles professional.

Which DVD's do you have? I highly recommend "Protools for Musicians" by Keane. It shows you a lot of the "Pro" tricks and steps, comes with 2 sessions that you can work on when following along.
