Hi every body...
Thanks to view my subject... More thanks to anyone who reply...
I got a trouble finding best sound card in my country Indonesia.
I want to gear up my PC for recording. I use Cake Pro 9. My PC :

Pentium II 300 MMX
MB 1st KA 6110 Chipset
256MB SDRAM
20 GB IDE Quantum
SB 16 Creative.

I think I'll upgrade my Sound card. But, in my country most sound card is always meant for gamers ( such SB Live!, Ess, etc. ) I have looked everywhere to find some for musician like Delta-66 or sumthing. I can't get any.
Would you inform me where can I get it here ?
Anyway, my budget is not really high. I'm looking for some under US$100. I don't buy online. Just Cash. Thanks...

Ok ok, SB Live! is ment for gamers, but I don't think there is something wrong using it for music. You won't get THE pro result, but it well be a great upgrade from your SB16...

I use it, and I'm satisfied with it

Just remeber to upgrade the drivers.

Hi, thanks for your comment,
It's about a day for me to upgrade it... Before that, I borrow this sound crad from my friend. I use it two in my PC. Oooh, you're right, it sounds alot better than the old Sb16. Lets say... like night & day !!! But then again, I have a problem with it's feature I don't acctualy need. How to remove the IDE port & Joystick port from the card ? I don't need them since I use the one on my 1st card. There's no jumper like the old one SB16 has. Its just making conflict. Any body help me ?

hey James, how are you

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by the IDE-slot on your soundcard (I've never heard of a soundcard having one), but the joystick-port can be disabled in the device manager (right-click My Computer).
Hope that works out for you.

greetings, tab

Well... Thanks...
What I mean IDE port is, the port wean use to conect IDE harddisk / CDROM to my sound card. It looks like 41 pin conector.
I must say every mainboard provide it now. Two, not one. One for master, one for secondary. We wont need 'em on our soundcard anymore. I see many sound card manufacturer still provide it with their card. I dont think it's good idea, while they dont give us a chance to turn this feature off ( by jumper switch etc. ). Yes, I can turn it off in my Win Control Panel. But it still conflicts, cause it doesnt actualy turned out, just be "sleeped". May be that's why everytime I turn on my PC, a "new hardware found" message comes out...
I'm a newbie for this sound card things, so there must be some stupid questions or problem I ask. Dont hesistate to reply. I would thankfull...
