The guys at guitar center are REALLY pushing the mbox mini on me. I'm not sold because I don't want to spend 300 bucks and have a "limited" version of something. I just want something that I can record guitar, import drum tracks via fruity loops or wave acid type files, and write. I also want to explore midi.
What do you guys think about Sonar Home Studio for 99 bucks?
Thanks,
J

Yeah, Sonar'll probably do it. Just get a decent audio interface and you're away.

You'll probably get a free software with whatever interface you buy. Cubase LE, tracktion, or whatever. I'd think about what interface you want first, and then software, if the interface doesn't include free software.

Sonar Home studio will still be limited. You find much that isn't at that price. I always advise people to stay clear of protools.
