This dude I know is a good artist and sent me this pic a long time ago, but I never ended up using it. So, I was thinking about renaming and using his art instead of my own. You can help me decide!

man ..... I'll have to say I like his better than yours.
Much more detail to it and even though it's the same sort of grotesque art, his just seems more sophisticated and better produced than yours.
Although your has it's own ..... ummmmm .... charm.

I think it's kinda like the hi-fi vs lo-fi audio discussion. Personally, I would always go for hi-fi ..... it's just how my taste runs.
But there are plenty of folks who really like lo-fi.

So to my taste, the extra detail makes the difference. On his art you could look at it many different times and find new stuff each time for a while. To me, that's always been a hall mark of a good album cover.

I suppose for a CD cover, you probably want to go with the more polished-looking #1.

Personally I think they're both corny but #1 is more pleasing to the eye and digestable.
