I have a major problem I dearly hope someone can help me with.
I have recently purchased a Lucid Word clock to drive my 2 Delta 1010s. I had hoped that even half the hype of how much it would help would be true.
Something is not right.
When I choose the Delta's internal clock everything is dead quiet, when I choose the Lucid I get a distinctive oscillating digital noise .(this is without any programs being run)
I chose a prerecoded project for playback, I listened using the Deltas clock and became familiar with the sound. I then kicked in the Lucid. The music DID tighten up but in the background was that oscillating sound.
I opened a new project and recorded and the recorded track was heavily tainted with the noise.
I have double checked all places to make sure everything was set to receive from the external box and was at the right sample rate.
The only thing that came to mind was either the unit is defective, or perhaps the BNC cables I have are the wrong kind.
The cables I bought are Videoflex 75 "professional video coax cable" From Connectronics. I believe them to be 75 ohm cables. But can the fact that they are meant for video possibly make them bad for word clock use?
It almost seems the word clock signal is being corrupted or something.
I don't know... I am severly distressed and could use some guidance.
