help in choosing a sound card

Hello Guys,
I need some help in choosing a sound card for my computer.
I will be using cakewalk to record some music.
I play guitar and want to record that.
I am getting a new computer.
Its Amd xp 1600+ with 512mb ddr with Abit kx7 motherboard.
I had some suggestion about Turtle Beach Santa Cruz....

Can you guys please advise me on the sound card? I don't need very expensive ones...

Welcome nshresth. I would advise you do some searches through this forum for past threads that talk about your question. This is a common inquiry here and lots of talk about it is already on the board. Everyone here is extremely helpful and will be glad to help, but are sometimes put off by such a general question if you haven't searched for answers first. This will also allow you to ask more detailed and informed questions when your ready to ask them. Good luck!

BTW guys, it seems I have become the one to advise newbies about searches and detailed questions. Not that I mind, when I first joined I got one or two of these responses myself. And newbies can't be expected to know right off the bat. Just wondering if this is appropriate.
