help-how to build isolation booth for as little as possible

:rolleyes: Hello all! I am new to this site and need some help, I am looking to build a sound isolation booth for a condenser mic. to be used for rap flow and vocals. Can anyone give me some advice on the best materials to use for construction for as little as possible(budget round $500-$1000). Any links or info would be great, I am on a limited time frame and searching seems to be taking forever and I am not really finding the exact info I need. Thanks for you knowladge!~J
 
Yeah i was gonna suggest John sayers but his site didnt seem to be working. :confused:
 
How big of booth do you want to build? and also is it going to be pernament?
 
actually we now have a closet to use for 3 walls(well the dimensions are 65" long by 72" high, the sides are currently only 29" which is inadiquate and we are trying to figure out how much bigger to make it. That will be this weekends project.) Thank you so much for any info on what we can buy at the hardware store (thankfully we have a contractors discount there) or order online to get it up and working asap.
 
Thank you all for your quick replies, I did check out the site you reccomended the first day I was on here, it gave me alot of awesome info I needed to learn, but now I have a closet to use I am sure many people have used them sucessfully. I was wondering what has or hasen't worked for people as far as making over a closet? I know you learn the most by doing and there are alot of people on here who seem interesting and knowladgable :) We are always looking for hot beats, and other artists to work with. I am working on a site for the guys and I will post links as soon as it is rumnning. (as soon as we get the songs recorded with the new mic in the soon to be closet sound booth! :p ) Thank again for your input, and feel free to message me...Jessie
 
Im no expert or anything, but im pritty sure its going to be hard to make a small closet isolated. Im in the process of makeing a 5X5 portable booth and should be done this weekend. If you want i can post some pics of how i did it.
