A pair of these and an RCA patch cable from the turntable to channels 9/10 on the front of the Tascam should work for ya. :D

That's just awesome :) Thanks a lot mate.

Edit:
I just wonder what the phono outputs on the interface is for. It can't be exploited? ;)

On the 1641? The only thing that looks like RCA jacks on the Tascam, are digital in/out (s/pdif). That is for connecting a device that has it's own Digital/Audio converter. It just uses the same connector. Easily confused.

Haha trible ;D - but that sorts things out. Thank you come again :)
Edit: - Bought a converter but its like i could need an eq. Now when I fit your method, I wonder if it is possible to deal with it via a software eq? Oo.
The speakers are tascam monitors, so they dont color the sound at all..

Uyuyuy discovered something great! :) My computer hp-elite desktop has phono input, but i dont know how to activate it.
So to sum my gear up:
Tascam us-1651
2x Active Tascam monitors
A computer with phono input.
sony PS-LX250 turntable
Now who can help a man with too much gear to think?

Still, you are going to get better sound by using the Tascam as your exclusive soundcard. The built in one in your PC is crap. They all are.

You need to hook up the turntable to a phono preamp, then plug the phono preamp into the line inputs of the Tascam. Turntable outputs are not line level and you need to match this to line level. You also need to modify the phono output with RIAA equalisation, this will be built into the Phone preamp.

This is the reason you have a Aux / Phono (turntable) switch on the back of DJ mixers.

Alan.

Input 9/10 on the 1641, are selectable HIz/Line level with input gain (preamp). I suggest he try that before 'a man with too much gear to think' buys more. :D

This does not match a phono input, HIz is for an instrument input.
