Help! DMP3 problems

Hi Everyone..

I was hoping someone could help me.
I just bought DMP3. I got home all excited to try it, plugged it in, one of the channel lights came on and then switched off. Now I cant seem to get any signal from it!! I didn't hear anything go bang or smell anything thing burnt out.

I was using the 9v power supply that it came with and a travel adaptor so that it would fit in to the wallsocket here in the UK. (The DMP3 came from a registered dealer in the US). I've also tried another travel adaptor but that doesnt work either.

I know it's a long shot but tech support is closed for the weekend and I was wondering if anyone had this problem.

Sounds like you got a bad unit. See if you can exchange it for a new one.
 
you said that you used the power supply that came with the unit from the US? and i'm assuming the travel adapter you're using isn't a transformer that changes the voltage to 120V right?

you probably caused the power supply to fail by running 240V through it. it was only expecting to see 120V. you may have also damaged the preamp.

what you need to try is a new powersupply that is designed for a 240V (or whatever your local voltage is) input and a 9V output. you'll have to check your existing powersupply to see if the pre needs 9V AC or 9V DC, i can't remember offhand.

however, you might have damaged the pre, and if thats the case you'll have to get it repaired

Dammit, I think you might be right. The adaptor says 250VAC and the power supply says input 120VAC.

Thanks. I just hope it's the power supply that's the problem and not the preamp.
