Hi,
I just bought a new Zoom H2n mic and have been recording voice audio from that connected by USB straight into Audition. It had all been working really well until I tried to do it today and now all the recordings from the mic into my computer are slightly faster, at a higher pitch and have sound distortions. I've tried it on audacity but had the same problems there too.

I've recorded sound on the microphone independently which all sounds perfectly fine (no high pitch or distortions) and they work when dragged and dropped into audition. It just seems when the audio is being fed in it is being altered somehow and I don't know how to stop it!

One thing that might be worth mentioning is I adjusted the stretch and pitch yesterday when trying to alter a sound effect I had added. I think since then I have reset it but maybe that's what's effecting the system?

Is there any way to completely reset your audition software? Why would this effect audacity as well? Do you think it might be a hardware problem? (At most the worst thing I have done is shut my laptop without disconnecting the mic).

Thanks!

Also little update, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Audition and the problem persisted. Then I tried using the Zoom and its USB on another computer, on GarageBand and it all worked perfectly. So so confused!

Pretty sure Bobbsy is the AA expert here. I have 1.5 but really only use it for MP3 conversion and for the fact that there are few audio formats it won't run! I am sure there is a "set to default everything" setting but I cannot find it.

But you say Audacity gives the same problem? Got to be Win sound then and I suspect a sample rate mismatch.

Could try a simple Restore to before you *****d about?

Dave.
