help determining tube manufacturer/brand

Sorry if this is a double post I may have gotten booted the first time ai tried, if so please disregard. I have a 12ax7a type tube that has (or no longer has) a brand on it. It sounds great in my 5e3 in V1 (unlike most 12ax7a's) On the tube the text reads 12ax7a and above that it has in this font type {USA}. Any ideas? Thanks.

A picture would help to ID your tube. Many companies cross branded their tubes to different electronics manufacturers. The plate configuration sometimes gives it away. I've got a pretty big collection of vintage 12AX7's I could compare a picture to.

Thanks, I do not have camera access at this time (phone dead too. I do understand that there are lots of variations out there x brands and what not. Fwiw, the tube is just right a smidge above a 5751 gain wise but not as much as my variety of 12ax7a's. It just sounds great in the amp in V1 spec'd for 12ay7. "magic mystery tube" I'll try and locate camera and post a pic. BTW thanks for your atention.
