Help! Cannot Record Audio Internally Using GINA 24

I am running Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 on a Dell 700 w/ Win 98 SE. My PCI Audio Interface is Echo Audio's GINA 24. I've had the system about 4 months; & so far have only used it to record audio or MIDI from an external source. It performed well & sounds tremendous. Today I tried to re-record several comped audio tracks as a master audio track. Nothing!!! I am now in Panic City!

First, I checked Multimedia Properties in Windows; & both Playback & Record are assigned as "Gina24 1/2 Analog", used as Preferred Devices.

Then, I checked the GINA Console; & there is output signal.

In Cakewalk, all the settings appear to be normal. In DirectShow Audio, all the input & output drivers are selected. The existing audio tracks (which I am trying to re-record onto a separate track as a master) are all set to "Gina24 1/2 Analog Playback." In the armed separate track I am trying to record, the source is set to "Stereo Gina24 Analog Record." The port (which is output) is set to "Gina24 1/2 Analog Playback."

If anybody out there is familiar with GINA 24 and/or Cakewalk software; & can shed some light on this dilemma, I would be very appreciative. Please help.

Never met Gina , but it sounds like you want to do analog cables patched in and out of the card? That was the case with my dakota on light pipe. The s/c router wouldn't do it internally that I could find.
Cake has that bounce down feature included in it. (I never had rev9)

Funny, I woke up this morning with that very thought...patch cables. I was thinking about device assignments in Cake; & how all available devices are relative to hardware inputs & outputs.

Then, hoping to re-route the internal signal flow (out to in), I re-read the GINA 24 manual. No luck there, either. The GINA Console allows for the routing of hardware inputs to specific hardware outputs for monitoring purposes, but that's it. It seems weird to me that consumer level systems such as SoundBlaster offer internal record routing capability, but pro audio systems from mfg's such as Echo Audio or Dakota do not.

'm going to try a couple more simple troubleshooting type fixes, like freeing up my existing analog inputs (right now, my sound module is connected to 1/2.) But it's a longshot that an external connection would cancel out internal routing.

I am going to try the "Mixdown to Stereo Tracks" feature in Cakewalk you mentioned. Kind of embarrased I forgot about that one.
