Unpossible!
I had cubase crash on me, but was able to save the project before it closed. It crashed when I added a plugin, and now every time I start that .cpr file, it just crashes. I want to edit out the plugin manually, so it doesn't load - is that possible? It's onlu used one instance in the project.

Anybody??????

As far as I know, you can not edit a .cpr file. However, take a look in the folder where your .cpr is located and make sure that you have windows set to view all hidden files as well. There is a good chance there is a large quantity of .bak (?) files there. If so, those are automatic backup files and you can use the properties menu to check the timestamps and try and open one that is from before you added the plugin, but hopefully not missing too much stuff. If not, have you tried just uninstalling the plugin from your hard drive so that Cubase does not actually load it but just gives you a warning?

THANK YOU!

I don't have auto back-up set (will from now on), but I just uninstalled the offending plugin, and the project ran just fine. You are a lifesaver!!!!! :D

What was the plugin that caused the problem?

It was the psp vintage warmer - the odd thing is that it worked fine if I opened another project that had it in use, Very strange. I even - re-installed it before Xstatic said to un-install it - that didn't do anything. That project still crashes if I insert the VW. WTF?????

Once you uninstall it, you should be able to open the corrupted file, remove its place holder from the mix and resave. After that you should be able to reinstall it without it hanging you up on that song again:) Damned Gremlins:P

That's what I did, except even now, if I add it back in it crashes the whole computer - only in that ONE project - very strange..........
