Hi_D_Ho_Man

Tha' So & So ,So & So
Currently I'm using an Akai MPC3000 and a Yamaha keyboard to make tracks by sampling sounds into the MPC and sequencing from there. Then going to an outside studio to transfer the track and record vocals to an ADAT.

I was told that i could record my tracks and vocals on my desktop. i have demo versions of :
Cubase5.0
N-Track
Cool Edit Pro
Protools LE

As for Hardware i have:
Akai MPC 3000
Yamaha psr520
delta66 - omni i/o
midisport4x4

Basically i need to know if there's any basic equipment/software that i'm missing. whats the recommended way to set all of this up. Where can i get info on recording techniques explain in a way that "from scratch" begginers like myself can comprehend.

Alot of the advice i have seen has been more on an intermediate tip and i end up missing a concept or two. its really difficult for a person who has had no exposure to others in the field to learn , "hands on learning" is pretty much non existent. No one to watch and learn from. If any one can recommend descriptive recording method reading that would help as well.

thanks

Hi, Hi.

Looks like you have the stuff to do it with.

I'd add a mic or two.
Then you'd need some cables.

Dive in, but don't hold your breath.
Good luck.

The Mixing Engineers Handbook

I should have mine anyday :D and I hear it's a very informative read. Got it from Amazon.
