Hi, i bought a condenser mic (MLX v67) a sound card (Lexicon Alpha) and a friend gave me a preamplifier(SM Pro Audio XPM1) it got input XLR and the Classic Mic "Spike" but for output it got only a red and a white insert (like those that Playstation got to connect with tv) PLS help!! I got some images but i cant post links yet.

Presumably the lexicon alpha has a working usb connection on it? Plug that into a computer and run something like Reaper to record on and you're away.

Oh sorry, I see the pre-amp. Misunderstood. You need a phono to 1/4" jack cable. Plug one end into the pre-amp's red/white output and the other into the line-in on the back of the lexicon.

Hope this helps.

p.s. not sure it's even worth bothering with the preamp tbh. Haven't heard it myself but can't see it being better than the one built into the lexicon already.

i got some thing to connect it so its end up in XLR but still nothing, do you know any way to check if its working ?

the line in at the back of lexicon is 2 jack inserts
so i will have to buy 1 cable that from those 2 cables Red/White it ends up to 2 jack or 1 jack ?

yes, that's what I suggested. the red/white connectors are phono connectors. you need to connect them to the lexicon.

You should look for a two phono to two jack cable like this one, but you probably don't need to use both sides. If you do, you will just get two identical inputs into the lexicon which is completely pointless.

Incidentally, don't buy a two phono to one jack cable, the two lexicon jack inputs are mono not stereo, so this will only give you a mono connection anyway.

stil laint working, but i think i know what the problem is, my pre amp is 12 phantom, mic requires 48 phantom

Really? Are you sure that it only puts out 12 volts?

Cut out the preamp!! Just plug it straight into the lexicon alpha!!! It's probably not going to sound any better even if the preamp would work!

what do you think about Behringer Silver Micropower PS400. ? found it cheap

According to the website, the Alpha is intended to be connected directly to a computer soundcard. Also, it needs a wall wart for power...
