Hi everybody i am new here.

I am about to purchase M-Audio's JAMLAB usb interface, so that i can record guitar on computer. It Comes with a software called GT player express.

Just want to ask can M-Audio JAMLAB work with the Pro Tools or Guitar Rig or any other good software instead of GT Player express?

I Know that GT player express also has all the plugins like reverb, delay, distortion etc, but can the JAMLAB work with any other computer recording software?

Please tell me fast. Also, is JAMLAB good for home recording? Basically i want to record some distortion of my guitar!

Thanks pls do reply me!

And what is ASIO? I saw i will need this to record my GUITAR?? What is ASIO?

ASIO is a driver that allows you to get sound into and out of your pc with little or no delay. Most hardware audio devices for the pc come with ASIO drivers you need to install. I found this that sya the Jamhub has ASIO drivers.

I'm sure this probably works fine for recording but you'll probably find that is has limitations. Not sure if you use a DAW you would be able to use the FX that come with GT Player.

Ok thanks but, what are Jamlabs limitation??

I basically want to record guitars distortion....will i be able to record guitar's distortion with the Jamlab ( + GT Player express ) ??

I don't know for sure but I get the impression that gt player is just a control panel for the fx. You'll need a program like reaper or audacity to record which might just take the raw input before the fx are applied. Again I could be wrong but that's the impression I got from the reading that I did.

I don't know what kind of budget you have but have you considered something like a line6 pod that acts as an fx pedal as well as a recording interface. They work great for guitars and anything else you want to plug into it.
